The little details matter

Privacy

This notice explains the information we collect when you enquire, request a stay, create a client account or provide care information for your dog, and how we use it to run The Little Dog Homestay.

Last updated 23 August 2026

What we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect your name, email address, mobile number, booking dates, account information, messages, booking-term acceptance and information you choose to provide about your dog.

First-stay and dog-profile information can include feeding and sleep routines, behaviour, vaccination details, medication, medical history, veterinary contacts, emergency contacts and emergency treatment authority. Dog photos are optional and kept in private storage for authorised portal and admin access.

Why we collect it

We use this information to assess whether a requested stay is suitable, communicate with you, plan and provide care, manage bookings and waitlists, record booking acceptance, respond to emergencies, maintain the Client Portal, moderate genuine reviews and operate the business.

Client accounts and security

Client and admin sign-in is provided through our hosted authentication and database service. Passwords are not displayed to us through the website. We use access controls so client records are available only to the relevant signed-in client and authorised Homestay administrators.

Payments

Approved deposits are directed to a separate secure checkout provider when a payment link is enabled. The Little Dog Homestay website does not store full card numbers or card security codes.

Who information may be shared with

We do not sell client information. Information may be disclosed to service providers that help us operate the website, portal and payment flow; to a veterinary clinic or emergency provider where reasonably necessary for a dog’s care; or where disclosure is required by law.

Photos and updates

Photos or messages sent privately during a stay are used to provide care updates. A private stay update is not permission to use the material publicly. Public use of a dog’s photo or identifiable owner information is optional and should be based on permission for that use.

How long we keep information

We keep booking, care, agreement and communication records for as long as reasonably useful for operating the Homestay, maintaining an appropriate care history, resolving enquiries or meeting record-keeping obligations. Information that is no longer reasonably required may be archived or deleted where appropriate.

Access and correction

If information in the Client Portal or care record is wrong or has changed, update the dog card, complete an updated intake or contact us. You can ask us to correct information we hold about you or your dog.

Questions or privacy requests

Use the contact page to ask a privacy question, request a correction or discuss deletion of information that is no longer required.

Care information matters.

Please update medication, vaccination, behaviour, escape risk, veterinary details and emergency contacts whenever they change. Accurate information is essential to assessing and caring for a dog safely.
